This video is definatly using the pathos appeal. It’s using clips of injured, malnourished, children and images of the destruction war causes to elicit an emotional response from the viewer. I think it makes it quite obvious that this video is making an argument about the hell that war can create in the lives of everyone involved; not just the soldiers, but the mothers and fathers, the children and the elderly, absolutely everyone. It uses illustration and example extensively by using clips from all over the world to show the horrors caused by war. The background music is very ironic. It is a Christmas song, singing about having a ‘very merry Christmas and a happy new year’. This is ironic because of the contrast between the lyrics and the images being shown. There is no happiness seen in any of the video, no feelings of a happy new year. It shows instead all the things that are lost, and feelings of despair that war gives us. The ending quote by Ghandi is very appropriate. “An eye for an eye makes us all blind.” I think it is arguing that there has to be a better way to solve our differences, one in which not as much is lost and destroyed. There are ways in which we can work together to achieve many of the same things that war is trying to achieve. This has a lot of cultural resonance, especially right now considering that America is in the middle of a war. Everyone in our country knows about the war and has there own personal opinions about it; we should stay, we should leave, we never should have been there in the first place, it was necessary to protect our freedom. Despite all of these differences of opinion we can still work together to create a more peaceful solution.

I agree that the video uses pathos as part of its strategy. I definitely felt a lot of different emotions watching that video ranging from anger, sadness, and confused. I felt the music did not belong with the video; it's pretty upsetting that they can play such holly music with everything that going on it the world. As a pre-health student that video really touched me, I hope to one day make a difference in this world.

I love peace, however, nobody want to be in the war! So,Plz stop firing! No matter what most people died for no reason, and they should not and they were not deserve those pain. I must say the "gunman" he is an idiot, killing people make he feel better? The world is going crazy! but the innocents did not deserve to pay for it !
